My experiences
Life Behind the Coffee Machine
I spent about a year working at Cafe H&N in Vietnam, and that experience taught me a lot about what it actually takes to work in food and beverage. My job was to take orders, make coffee, and make sure every customer left happy. But there was a lot more to it than I initially thought. Latte art was something I really wanted to get good at, so I kept practicing until it started looking the way I wanted it to. Over time things started to come together, my technique got better, customers started coming back, and I felt genuinely proud of the work I was putting out. What I took away from that job most was that quality does not just happen. It comes from being patient, paying attention, and putting in the effort even when you are tired and it is busy.
Ekka Show 2024
Working at the Ekka was my first job in Australia and honestly it was not exactly an easy start. For two weeks I was serving food and taking orders in one of the busiest event environments ever. The hardest part for me was communicating with customers. Coming from Vietnam, English was not my first language and having to talk to people constantly in a loud and fast paced environment was challenging at first. But I just focused on doing my best and kept improving. Day by day, i got more comfortable and my confidence had grown a lot. Working under that kind of pressure taught me more about communication and resilience than I expected. It was tough but looking back I am really glad it was my first experience because it set a high standard for everything that came after.
